Been a rough week here. Did 20 years of neglected repairs at my brother in laws house in 6 days and topped it off with transmission going out on my wife’s expedition on Saturday. Tomorrow (Monday) we all leave for three days to be counselors at our church’s kids camp. So, tonight I had a short little escape to work on engines. The one in the top left is complete and ready to go into the ‘55 Chevy. The top right is the finished 358 ci engone for the ortho ford and the two lower ones are for the ‘53 ford pickup. Wednesday when we get back I am sitting back to relax with my monster truck, ‘58 impala and ‘67 mustang! On a side note, I do not have the parts to finish this ‘55 Chevy so will start looking for suspension. (I want to lower it)

Do what i used to to when I only built curb-sides. Which i miss actually. For a lowered look I simply glued the rims/tires up in the fenders. It would look awesome. No suspension whatsoever. Then again curb-sides are only built for looks, not function lol.

I have some of that window tint, but haven't used it. I've read that the trick is to spray it on the BACKSIDE of the windows, so it won't be seen from the outside of the model. I would prolly spray a few light coats, instead of one heavy coat. Ya might try it on a piece of scrap clear plastic to see how it does for ya.

Question for ya'all: this kit came with all chrome for the headlights and taillights. As you know I'm repainting it all black, but what about the headlights? What color would you guys suggest to cover up the nasty chrome? (Nasty on this car that is)

Personally, I would strip the old chrome and then re-chrome the parts with the Molotow Chrome marking pen. It works wonders on small parts like the headlights.
