Have been working on a 1:72 F-22 Raptor while I wait for paint on my Super Hornet and ‘53 Ford. My daughter is home from college and mixed me up some Jet Exhaust so I didn’t have to buy it: Glad I have a non-colorblind artist to help with colors!

I was in a painting mood tonight so I pulled out the F-22 again. Started painting the camo. Considering I am doing it by hand, think it looks good

Looking for some expert assistance. I painted the rest of the camo last night and here’s what it now looks like: I sanded it a bit last night to smooth out the layers and eliminate brush strokes. What I would like is a more blended scheme—that is, a blurring of the lines a bit. What would you all recommend? Keep in mind I am doing this all by hand. Thank you in advance!

There are plenty folks here that can help you out. A lot of different techniques. I'll be asking around when I get ready to do my cammo!

I don't do camo by brush but I'm sure someone here will help... I use an airbrush for soft edges...

Hi mate, you can mix a thin filter of paint to pull it all together. Enamel or oil is best. I use 60% thinner, 30% clear Matt and 10% colour. You need the clear Matt to add body to the filter or it will leave an uneven finish and cling to panel lines etc. Mix it very well too For your build I’d use the light grey as the colour. Practice on a bit of scrap until you find the right mix and use a medium flat brush to apply and apply in thin coats. Don’t forget to gloss it up again before adding decals

I did end up trying Steve's suggestion and it did help. However, I've put this one aside for just a bit. The colors I've used aren't the colors that are really needed to make it look right. I'm waiting on my aircraft paint set to arrive and will revisit this one once it arrives.
