Question: any of u have a good formula for making jet exhaust color? I have 4 parts on my F-22 Raptor that need it an I’d rather not spend $6 ( incl S&H)on .25 oz. thanks!

Tamiya's Smoke, X-19 has always worked well for me.

My system is to paint flat black first. The while the paint is still drying, I'll add a copper color to it, letting it blend a bit. That gives it as similar effect to a Smoke wash over the engines. After that has dried, I'll dry brush a very weak, almost imperceptible amount of Steel on the engine parts. Once that is done, I'll either airbrush a bit of blue paint, or apply Tamiya burnt-metal blue weathering powder to the engines.
