The Tamiya M10 Mid-Production is the best one available for dimensional accuracy, Feldgrau. See my thread on comparing M10 hulls further down in this forum. AFV has wrong hull angles; Academy has that and is too narrow. The Tamiya M10 turret is the only one that is correct in size and shape, and can easily be backdated to the early configuration with the lead block counterweights. With respect to the AFV M36, it is wrong for WW2 and can only be built as a post-war M36B2 since the hull parts are all for the diesel M10 and not the gasoline M10A1. The bustle on the turret is also about .080" too short, so it has to be sawed off at the back of the turret and that much material added and sanded to shape before repairing the weld seams. Italeri's M36B1 is rather crude by modern standards and the turret a bit large, but it's better than Academy...that turret suffers from being rather "squished" laterally since the hull is too narrow. The too-narrow hull throws off the proportions of all of Academy's M10 and M36 turrets. I only use Academy tank destroyer kits as sources for interior parts for other projects, usually casting copies in resin.

It looks like when the tracks were removed from the mold the injector whiskers didn't come out of the mold but were pulled out of the tracks itself leaving a drilled out looking hole.
Later boys and girls Tony lee

I was the night shift supervisor at a plastics company and it is an art but the problem I see knowing how it works the manufacture is in too much of a hurry, they don't keep a close eye on the machine setting or the operator just don't know what the heck they're doing. Simple as that folks Tony lee
