A buddy tipped me off to this on eBay last week and I won the auction over the weekend; a little over $55 all in:
This Trakz conversion is long out of production, and is considered the better of the two such set that were produced (the other is RealModel, still available). Resin is well cast and looks like it will go together well. The tubular roll cage will be challenging, and I may consider doing that out of brass rod...eventually. I bought this conversion with this beast below in mind. Wish I had more (and better) pictures...
This is a mobile yarder, a Skagit BU-80 I believe, mounted on an M26A1 Pacific frame. The spar is Madill, and a pretty darn long one, too. Skagit built a few of these back around 1960-62. This one was spotted somewhere in British Columbia where the RCMP had deadlined it for some reason...possibly for being a rolling Superfund site, contaminating the highways with a steady stream of oil from the lubrication nipples that fed a constant drip onto the exposed chain drives for the rear axles.
