This is the Matchbox kit of a corvette, it was a fairly large scale kit and came with a very good set of crew figures (plus i got another set off a buddy who found a made model of this ship on a dustbin

you had the choice of makeing it a brit ship or a Canadian ship (the snow goose) or an american one (USS Saucy)
i named this one Compass Rose after the corvett in the film "the cruel sea" starring Jack Hawkins, good film if ya aint seen it, these hardy little convoy escorts saw plenty of action, real nice kit to build, and another one i wish i'd kept, (the local model shop bought it and the blue devil for £50 each

Thanks again Keith, this was a real good kit to make, enjoyed this one a lot and wish to god i'd kept it, i think if i got the chance this would be the one i'd make again, by the way have you ever seen the film i mentioned? if not and i can do a copy in "NTSC" (i think thats the format you guys use in the USA, ours is "PAL" )i'll gladly post ya a copy, well worth a watch and really brings home the hadship of life on these little ships, what with the germans and the weather they had a real bad time of it,
i was after my mates model he found on a bin intending to make it a wreck, weather it and add a torpedo hole and stick it in the fish tank which is pretty big, but he never came across, said his wife threw it in the bin!!
