bad news or us brits, SNC hobbies i just found out from Bobcrosier had shut down, i used to get my foil and wired dizzy's etc from there, just looked on "Hiroboys" and as expected no bloody BMF, SNC was reasonably priced and ya could order one thing if thats all ya wanted, some here insist you spend at least 25 quid per order, service always seems much better in the US than here, here it's both rare to obtain and three times the price, just when i get the bug again too

What a shame! Hobby shops are shutting down everywhere! At one time there were about 30 within a 100 mile radius from me. Now, there's not much more than five, unless you count Hobby Lobby, and scale models is not their priority. Can you order the BMF directly from the company? They are in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Here's a link for BMF: www.bare-metal.com/

I did get my first two sheets direct Keith but with shipping to the UK etc it come out rather expensive, SNC did em for £5 each and free post, it was around double from the states, there is Hannants here but their dear, plus i think you have to spend a minimum amount per order, still got some serious googleing to do so we'll see, i have some but in case the glue on it's past it's shelf life which knowing my luck it will be

aye mate, what ever did we do before the internet? aint had time to properly check it out but it certainly looks good now i've sort of re-started modeling i'm finding i need to replace lots of stuff, already got new filler, many of my paints have gone hard, got to treat myself to some new brushes, and need to stock up on some "plastruct" or "evergreen" strip, rod, angle etc etc, just knew it was gonna cost me a packet getting back "into it" again

I know what you mean. I stopped modelling a while back and only got started again in the last few months, but that co-incided with ModelZone here in the UK opening up a new shop in Cambridge, near to me.
So they got paints (including the restocked acrylic Tamiya sprays)and glues etc and a healthy stock of both evergreen and plastruct plus K&S brass and ali tube.
I am quite spoilt at the moment. Mind you when I go in, the paint, glue, kits, and plastic strip stock never seems to go down any. I'm probably the only one who buys the stuff.
Got some Squadron white putty from them the other day, but found it too soft for me - gonna go back to the old Humbrol!

If you want to buy styrene cheap I buy it in large sheets from the local plastics shop. A lot cheaper and I get a massive sheet for the same cost as one from the hobby shop. Not sure what they would call it in the UK but I asked for high impact styrene or just take a sample.

I've not heard of that - I'll have to look around in the UK.

I had a look in B&Q for styreen rod etc but bugga all there, just ordered two sheets of bmf from that site you posted Bob, seem very good, post free on some stuff (inc foil) other stuff is post free if ya spend over £40, not hard to do if your buying a model kit or two, they have a nice Iraleri 1/24th kit of a landrover defender 90 in camo with a gun on the back (like the lybians latest mobile armour) i have been looking for a hilux or mitzi pick up and same scale AA gun for that purpose, (mayby a scale rag head (sorry! egyptian freedom fighter) to go with it) ;D cant see any pre-wired distributor caps or styreen rod on there tho, they take paypal! which is handy
