Wow...I don't remember the fit being quite that appalling when I built mine. Then again, I was eight years old. I strongly suspect I have gotten more fussy about fit issues over the ensuing (almost) five decades.

Worked on the hull and deck parts with clean up and filling. Wet sanded.

Yes it did. Filled up those sink marks. The bottom was slightly asque and had to glue it in sections, to get it to fit right. It's waitin for paint, like all the others.
