When you glue it in place with the tailgate installed it will pull the body into shape...

Whoa, must have been a warped body, mine was perfectly straight!!! Yeah, I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it without cutting anything.

I think it will pull it into shape when you actually glue it up, bending it to fit!!!

Did you hafta put the tailgate in as you glued it?

Yes if you don't you will break off the pinned ends when you try to put it in later... I clamped mine in place and tried putting it in and it wouldn't go so added when I glued it... made painting a pain in the rear though... lol!!!

Just be careful you don't get glue on the tailgate pins!!! Maybe a little Vaseline if you are worried about it... I just prayed hard and missed them thank goodness!!!

To paint it, I painted with the tailgate up first, let dry and then painted the inside bed with the tailgate down and let that dry!!!

Great tips! I plan to paint my bed as if there is a bed liner in it, so putting the gate in first might not be a problem.

I thought about a bed liner but then decided to save that for a future truck build... lol!!!

I admire your tenacity Joe and a job well done. The problem may be in the upper tip of the rear side panel Bucky. I had to take a # 11 blade to mine, so the tail gate would fit right.
