Been on the lookout for a kit of a 72 Buick Skylark with a 350 in it... my son had one but it was destroyed in a major accident in Phoenix AR in his last month of college and I would like to build one for him if I could find one... I have seen the 70 Skylark GSX which I do have one coming but there are too many differences to make that work... Any ideas gents???

One of the best looking "A" body GM cars out there! I had one exactly like this one: Yep, it's a factory, fold-back sunroof! Joe, the '70 GSX should be close enuff to convert.

The hood is the issue and that big block with all the trimmings has to go for a 350 to replace it...

I've never seen those hub caps before either and the grill needs major rework...

The wheel covers are definitely different. I'll keep my eyes peeled for aftermarket resin stuff.

The hood is the easiest part to modify, just remove the scoops and make it a flat hood. The grill might be more a problem than anything else. Wheelcovers you might try 76, (or newer), Caprice. Just my thoughts, oh and the 350 I wouldn't worry about, display closed, no problem. Jerry

For Buick engines back then, the 350 and 455 was basically the same block. They were different from the Chevy engines, where a 350 was a small block, and the 454 was a big block. Those were different from each other.

I will eventually tackle this, also need the center console removed, do away with the bucket seats and build a bench seat to match the rear seat...

The pattern is correct but the kit has buckets and I need a front bench...
