After much conversation between Myself and Mence (Prof) it has been decided that an Elefant Duel would be a good thing to do. So, without further ado, a little history courtesy of Wiki. The Elefant (German for "elephant") was a heavy tank destroyer used by German Wehrmacht Panzerjäger during World War II. It was built in small numbers in 1943 under the name Ferdinand, after its designer Ferdinand Porsche, using tank hulls that had been produced for the Tiger I tank requirement, which was rejected in favour of a Henschel design. In 1944, after modification of the existing vehicles, they were renamed Elefant. The official German designation was Panzerjäger Tiger (P)[Note 1] and the ordnance inventory designation was Sd. Kfz. 184. I shall be building this kit, Dragon's ArmorPro 1/72nd scale kit. Mence will be along shortly, I'm sure with his build.

Chaps, welcome. First up is the gun mount which holds very few similarities to the real thing but is functional, it elevates and traverses. Back soon.

Here it is fitted to the large hull sides, already taking on that distinctive Elefant appearance. Cheers.

Cheers fella. And onwards thanks to a break in my expected schedule which has allowed me to get the upper hull built. No major issues, fit as you might expect is very good indeed.

Mence, Dude, you're leaving me in the dust. Guys, thanks for joining up and hanging out. Yes I am a little behind but have managed to get the sprockets and roadwheels trimmed up and ready for paint. Should have some better progress tomorrow.

Aaaah, the familiar wheels on sticks shot next then? I have lower hull bits ready to go now with the customary weights that Tamiya kindly provides.
