When I bought the '68 Imperial convertible back in '98, I put the top down at least once a month for about 14 months straight. We rode in one Christmas parade with a light drizzle falling, and an open umbrella over our heads!!!

Mike that app is a scream! I love it! Beekster, you look great in that roadster. You'll have fun! Bucky, that is so cool! Duke, there's nothing like a convertible to turn head, especially this time of year in Oregon. Days like this aren't unusual despite our reputation for endless rain, and a drive with the top down never fails to generate a bunch of double-takes, waves, and the occasional honk with grin & thumbs up. Everyone recognizes that I bought the thing for open-air motoring, and (I think) admire my determination to use it as designed. Either that, or they are simply humoring the crazy dude with the top down in winter. Bucky, do you still have that Imperial? The name really suited those things. My grandfather had a '65 sedan, the first car I experienced with power windows and seats.

Make sure and play if I were a rich man at full blast as you tool around in the convertible!!! Sure to attract attention that way, lol!!! You don't have to be rich to own an SLK, and I'm not. Sticker on this one when new was $48,000 back in 2006. I bought it used in February of 2014 with 89,000 miles on it, one owner with dealer service history, for $15,500 including shipping from Pleasonton, CA to Hillsboro. Depending on the mood, just about anything can be blaring out of the stereo: Jimmy Buffett, Van Halen, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Pink Martini, Pink Floyd, Little River Band, Gerry Rafferty, Eagles, Elton John, Dan Fogelberg, you name it. My musical tastes are eclectic. Wife took this one during our run today, just an hours' drive around the area to keep the fluids circulated and the battery charged.

Yessir, I have owned the Imperial since '98. I also have a 1989 Chrysler TC by Maserati, and Mrs. Bucky has a 1990 Jaguar XJS V-12 convertible! We love 'em!
