Got Judy home today (Friday) and she's having a few problems with pain in foot but we're hoping it will let up here in a day or so.Until then it's kind of rough on her. As for me, after getting things ready for her and things she needs at home and spending 10-12 hrs a day at the hospital with her I'm pretty well pooped. I'm not complaining though since she took care of me after 3 major surgeries over the last three years,it's time to pay it back. But right now I'm so tired I can't even get to sleep.

It's fantastic that you have her back home! Take it easy, and don't try to rush the recovery. Thoughts and Prayers are coming your way!!

Judy says thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Today was a much better day,she didn't have as many pain attacks and the hospital sent over a person from physical therapy who went over details,instructions and worked with her. It took about 3 hrs and in that time I got one heck of a good nap!!  |

Well it's been a rough 25 days since surgery. She ended up with what they call 'drop foot' and has quite a bit of swelling in her feet and legs with plenty of pain to go along with it. The pain is letting up some and she's getting more mobility back but the swelling is hanging in there. Physical Therapy comes 5 days a week to work with her and the hip is doing fine but the legs just don't want to play nice.
She has had plenty of money spent on her for Christmas - a new Serta mattress to give her more support from me, her son got her a recliner chair that raises up for getting in and out of so she can sit in the living room and I've got people coming in a week or two to take out the old bathtub and replace it with a new complete shower stall assembly. The company owner is a fellow veteran and offered it to me at 50% off for the shower,materials and labor.
