I got this hood for the Puma GT today: It's a resin piece from T.M. Resins. These hoods were found on the 1968 Cougar GT-E. I thought it might add to the look on this fastback Puma GT.

Bruce, it came from Time Machine Resins, in Nashville, Tennessee. They sell their stuff on eBay. It has a couple bubbles along the edge that will need to be filled. Joe, it looks like it fits about the same as the hood from the kit. I was concerned that it might be smaller.

I was thinking it might be too tight when you add paint layers...

Hmmm...could be. I'll check it multiple times before painting. At least taking some off will be easier than adding to it. Lol

I found this stuff under the kitchen sink, so I thought I'd give it a try on the old paint. I'm doing the old hood first, to see how the plastic reacts to the cleaner. This hood won't be used in the build, so if it gets damaged, no loss! After an hour and a half, the paint was tacky. We'll see how it goes.

Wellll....this stuff doesn't seem to be doing the trick. The paint got kinda gummy, but stayed on the hood! So, I'll try summit else!
