Here's my dilemma...I'm not use to paint jobs that come out smooth & shiny right off the bat. The surface is smooth enough that my decals should go on with no problems but if need be can I use MicroSol decaling products? Plus I'm planning on using Novus Plastic Clean and Shine, should this be used before or after decals? Should I use a clear coat? I'll be using the Molotow Chrome pen and I hear it doesn't play well with some clear coats, plus should the Novus be used before or after the clear coat if used? "Help me Obe-Wan" I'm going to need vast quantities of Dunkelgelb and OD after this.

I have decaled right over a shiny paint job plenty of times and never used a polishing set but seems to me that would wear down your decals... the Molotov pen I just used for the first time and then I used the Model Masters enamel sparkly clear paint over it without any issues... sorry I can't be of better help but I'm sure one of the guys will be along shortly to help... A lot of builders lay down the gloss color coat, then put on the decals, then lay down the gloss clear coat. If there are several decals, more than one clear coat might be needed. That way, the clear coat can be wet sanded and polished out without getting into the decals. Decals don't get along too well with sanding products. They tend to disintegrate! I haven't used a Molotow pen, yet, so no advice on that. But, it sounds like Joe has that covered! Hope this helps!
