After seeing Mikes , I had to dig mine out, (dig, yeah right, more like find it on the shelf), to see where I was at with now I remember. This one was sort of a glue bomb, unpainted, and bonus windshield frame NOT broken! But the windshield was glued in to keep it right, right along the 'A' posts. I had Taped off the windshield and gave it a light coat primer. Today, I got it out!! No damage to the frame or the cowl!!!! Thank you for your interest, Jerry

Nice to see this old one fall off the shelf! Will a windshield from another kit work in that frame?

At this time, I'm thinking Cher's 'stang over Sonny's, it the prettier car of the 2. Though I thought the car was originally more of a Magenta with a Candy Red insert rather than pink with a red insert.

The following info came from www.hemmings.com/blog/2016/10/12/relive-the-1960s-with-a-pair-of-custom-mustang-convertibles-built-for-sonny-cher/Both 1966 Mustang convertibles were built with the 289-cu.in. V-8 and an automatic transmission, though Sonny’s Mustang received the four-barrel carburetor A-code engine (good for 225 horsepower) while Cher’s got by with the two-barrel carburetor C-code engine (good for 200 horsepower). As finished in San Jose in late 1965, Sonny’s car was originally painted Springtime Yellow with a Parchment and Black interior, while Cher’s car started life in Candy Apple Red with a Black interior. Upon arrival in Barris’s shop, the Mustangs received a somewhat thorough exterior re-working, with similar themes executed in different color palettes. Sonny’s car was repainted in Murano Gold Pearl with orange and gold fade accents, while Cher’s received a Hot Pink Pearl livery, enhanced with Candy Red. For contrast, the coves of both cars were covered in suede, with Sonny’s Mustang getting brown leather and Cher’s deep red. Both cars received a reworked grille; new front and rear fascias; fender flares; rectangular headlamps; custom Thunderbird taillamps; hidden door handles; fake sidepipes; and dummy intakes on the hood. Sonny’s car rode on five-spoke chrome wheels, while Cher’s used slotted mags, and both received thin-stripe white wall tires. The cars’ custom interiors, however, made the external modifications look like an exercise in taste and restraint. Both cars received Mouton fur carpeting (Sonny’s car in gold, Cher’s in hot pink), with leather and fur upholstery adorning the seats and fur lining the trunk. In the case of Sonny’s Mustang, it’s a combination of bobcat fur, antique leather and suede, while Cher’s was fitted with white ermine fur, offset by black leather. Each also carried an 8-track tape player, as well as a brass plaque identifying the car as either the “Sonny Bono Custom Edition Ford Mustang” or the “Cher Custom Edition Ford Mustang.” It’s not clear how long the duo held onto their Mustangs, but the cars were also featured in the 1967 feature film Good Times, which marked the comedy directorial debut of William Friedkin. Though the cars have passed through several collections and at least one restoration (overseen, of course, by Barris himself) over the decades, they remain “very low mileage,” a testament, perhaps, to the scarcity of car washes specializing in suede exteriors and fur interiors. The Mustangs have crossed the block a few times in recent years, selling for $198,000 (for the pair) at a January 2009 RM Auction. In 2010, they were sold by Barrett-Jackson, this time for a price of $137,000 (again for the pair). 17.October 2016: Sonny’s Mustang sold for a fee-inclusive price of $71,500, while Cher’s sold for $55,000 ($126,500 combined).

Thanks Jcon for that info! Though I question this" Cher’s used slotted mags", when built, George used Raider wire mags on her car, the slotted wheels were later. The box art shows both cars as they were built.

I have a set of the wire mags, but not the star mags that were on Sonny's car. Another reason to build hers. Haha
