Must be good to look around one of these Its amazing to walk her decks Ian, even with a broken knee at the time... over and through bulkheads and ladders where not fun but I survived!!! Good thing I didn't know it was broken at the time, just had lots of pain but the awe of all the history around me kept me going brother!!!! I would go back in a heartbeat fella!!!

I got to see and tour this ship while she was in Long Beach, just after she returned from the Persian Gulf. They opened her up to show her just before she was to be prepared for her journey to Pearl. I went down with my wife and saw everything that I could.
Over here now we have the USS Iowa, sister to Missouri and essentially the same ship. On Iowa, they preserved President Roosevelt's stateroom just as he used it during his trip to meet Stalin and Churchill. There is a lot more also, but almost all the interior is preserved. On Iowa, they even offer sleepovers for groups; where everyone gets to sleep in crew quarters and get fed in the Galley.
Great pics overall, Someday I wish to go and see that myself.

I saw the Missouri back in 1982 in Bremerton Washington but then you were only allowed on a few decks as she was still commissioned. That is really cool Mark, would love to come down and see her someday!!! Thanks Carl, I bet that does bring back memories!!!
