If you're into old cars, you'd love this place; Classic and Exotic Services in Troy Michigan. I've been working there for almost 5 years, and never get tired of the cars. My current project is the Duesenberg Model J (second picture), which we converted to an SJ- we do supercharger conversions for these cars. The engine is gorgeous-Duesenberg green and polished aluminum, supercharged with dual carbs and a rare 8 into 1 exhaust. Very sweet workplace you have there, Tom!!!! Show us some shots from time to time. Could be a great point of reference for a modeler!! By the way......would you guys consider restoring a 1968 Imperial Crown convertible?

The Imperial doesn't look like it needs restoring! It's too new for our shop- the owner doesn't like to do cars even from the 50's, unless they're Ferraris, Maseratis, etc.

You've heard of the "twenty-footer"? Well...the old Imperial is a "thirty-footer"! hahaha Not bad, but could use a freshening up, with the interior being the worst of it! I keep waiting on Chip Foose to steal it for an upcoming episode of "Overhauling"!!!!

There's two parts to this job- the first is the cars. Just about every day something interesting rolls in the door; there's cars in there I've never heard of before, as well as the usual Duesenbergs, Auburns, a couple Rolls Royces, etc. Then there's the job itself- everything gets reduced to pieces of metal that need to be repaired or replaced; this morning I made a battery tray for a 65 fiat, then went back to work on a set of Dusenberg fenders that I've been working on for several weeks- after a while it becomes just a job!

Closest i got was working at a coach builders (till it went down the pan) we made single deck low floor buses, my job along with another guy was installing the heater systems, this was the drivers de-mist unit, hose lines and the passenger radiators, the company was called "Salvador caetano" a portugese outfit, trying to get into the uk bus market, we didn't build the chassis/engines etc, these were mainly Dennis rolling chassis's and a few Merc's, very hany place for bits of metal, sealers, paints, etc however they couldn't complete with the uk builders like "Alexander" and a couple of others, most of our busses went to London transport, we did a few coaches as well, we had a few nice trips "up north" to service these coaches,
