As a kid, I remember my dad's '70 Pontiac Lemans. The seats had clear vinyl covers, and we would stick to them in the summer. I drove a '78 Olds Salon as a teenager Nowadays, I drive a 2003 Nissan Sentra LE Also Drive a 2007 Toyota Solara Just recently purchased a '98 Chevy Silverado Z-71 from my girlfriend's father.

I like the Pontiac and the Solara, Dan! Those seat covers were mean to a little kids legs, weren't they?? My Dad had one of these....1968 Dodge Coronet Deluxe....low man on the totem pole! 6 cylinder, 3 speed column shift, NO RADIO!! His car looked Ed Zachary like this one! I drove it some before he traded it on a new '73 Dodge Pickup!

I had one of these: This pic is from the web. Mine didn't have any decals on it. It was a 6.6 liter, but the engine was the factory installed 403 cubic inch Oldsmobile version. Very torquey!!! FAAAAAAAST!!!!

One bad bird. "Bad bird" is right! I had it for 6 months. Headliner fell out of it. Passenger door didn't shut correctly. Heater fan quit. Brake master cylinder failed one day while I was driving to work. I nearly tagged a Mercedes!!! Motor mount broke. Water pump exploded one day while driving to work! I finally gave up on it and traded it for a Chevy Chevette!!! I traded it on a Friday. The dealer sold it the next day. Then, on that Sunday, the guy that bought it blew the engine up! I think if I had kept the car, it wudda happened to me!

Wow, everyone has and had such nice rides! I was never so fortunate. These are my rides then and now. No pics of the earliest ones. My first car was a '71 Volkswagen Super Beetle. I had that to tool around in in Florida while in high school. When we moved to Minnesota, we had to sell it. After we moved to Minnesota, we bought a '68 Volkswagen beetle from our new next-door neighbor. It was supposedly gold but there was so much rust on it that you couldn't see the gold except in certain places. The rear fenders would flap in the wind where the rust had eaten away the metal. The passenger door never opened either so my prom date had a heck of a time getting over the gear shift in her prom dress. It also had another unusual quirk: whenever I was driving a girl around that was not my sister; it would invariably stall at every stop sign. That never happened any other time driving by myself or with my brother or any other male friend. I passed that on to my brother when I moved to Florida again. After I moved back to Florida, I picked up a little Ford Courier pickup that barely had any pickup. I also couldn't tell if it was yellow or brown as they color was so patchy; like someone had painted over the one color improperly, only to have it peel and flake off. It was automatic and tended to slip in and out of gear on what few hills were in Fort Walton Beach Florida. I ended up selling that and rode around town on a bicycle. Later on, a friend of mine sold me his AMC Hornet that had no reverse gear. We pulled out the transmission and tried to fix it. It worked for awhile, then the reverse went out on it again. It was challenging finding parking spaces that were sloped enough to roll out of when it was time to leave someplace. Hurricane Elena ended up wrapping that car around a telephone pole so I was back to the bike. Some time later with the help of my mother, I bought a 1980 Chevy Citation hatchback that I eventually packed up and moved to California in. Drove that puppy across the country and used it for awhile in California until the valves went out. I tried to fix it but when I moved into a condo after my wife and I got married, it was abandoned at the old apartment. Part of our wedding gift from her mother went to buying me a 1986 Nissan Sentra. I drove that car for 18 years and put 697,000 miles on it before it finally gave up the ghost. I finally sold it to a charity that bought old cars. The guy was willing to give me $200.00 for it, twice the normal amount since he saw what dire straights I was in. Here it is on the tow truck as they took it away: I admit, I cried when that truck took away my old mount..... After that, I was able to purchase my current vehicle: a Nissan pickup hardbody that I use for work: private image hostingNote that I added the lumber rack to it after I purchased it. I also had to replace the old tailgate since the one couldn't stay closed. This truck has served me well, carrying nearly a ton of Stucco mix: upload photographNot bad for a little four-banger.... She also hauled five 20'-tall palm trees and other shrubbery: Among other things.... So, I never had such cool cars as you guys all did, but I'm happy with my little Nissan truck. Maybe someday I'll be able to buy a dream car. Two of mine are a '65 Mustang or a Ford T-bucket. Yeah, like that will ever happen... Okay, those are mine. Nothing to see here, move along folks......
