Here's a display Dio for Desert Displays, made with a Craft Board, glue, sand, cat litter and a few rocks from the drive way.

It's best to seal the base board with an epoxy or other sealer, before applying the past, which will tend to soak the surface as it drys. They sprinkle in your layers of sand, rocks, cat litter or what ever textures you're looking for.

He didn't mind, because I'm not owned by any cats.

Very cool, Bruce! Thanks for the step-by-step on this base. It looks great with both vehicles. Joe, I bet the litter looked like boulders on your small scale build!

Very nice work, how do you rate that sand & ballast freeze?

Truthfully, only used the 50/50 CA and water in this one, because I'm too cheap to use the whole bottle on this 5 pound base. It is heavy!

LOL!!! I used it on the little Braille Scale tank base, ha, ha!!! Too large for that... One way to fix that is to leave off the cat litter, unless you place some sparingly to represent large rocks. Then use fine sand as the texture and it will work perfectly with any 1/72 scale vehicles. Thanks for posting this SBS. I think I might try this on a few bases for some of my work.

You're welcome. If I can do it, then anybody can. They add so much to our builds.
