Just to get into the "Feel" of this think of somewhere in July or August 1965 and you stroll into the local Ford Dealer and fresh off the truck is a Mustang that gets your attention. Wow, it has a hood scoop and rocker panel stripes with "GT 350" ! One of Shelby's newest go fast creations ready for delivery to the owner. Upon inspection you find it is a K code Mustang that has no rear seat, big wide 3" seat belts, extra gauges, no radio and no heater. It has front disc brakes, headers and special Goodyear blue dot tires. The blue Le Mans stripes most are used to seeing on these were usually added by the dealer at the customers request. It has been stated very few left Shelby American with those and most just had the rocker stripes only. So here is is, steel wheels and NO stripes, as delivered to the new owner with NO options. Who would have thought that today one of these would go for around $500K to a Cool Mil? This is built straight out of the box from the Monogram kit with some parts box wheels. Oh yeah, some Wimbledon White paint too. I reckon I will have to be happy with this, I sure can't afford the real thing. Not only that, $4200 in 1965 was a lot considering a young guys job paid him around $2.15 an hour if he was lucky.

Nicely done! Undercarriage looks great! I didn't know the stripes were a dealer add on. I thought Shelby put on. Even in the twilight years, I have the opportunity to learn something! Hahaha

I really like what you've done with this and it's not often seen in this fashion. Great work and attention to detail.

Thats about as stripped down as it gets. If I was a young kid back in 65 with that kind of money, that bad boy would be on the track! Nice job gloobomb!
