Had my PET scan Monday and got preliminary results back today with a final consultation next Wednesday at the University of Iowa. The results... The cancer is in remission!!! Will be taking a couple of days to get my head on straight and relax so I'll be gone for just a bit. Have gotten bench time and will be posting some pics soon. Good luck mate, my wife has been through it,my sister in law is going through it and it looks like my mother in law may now be going through it. All I can say is be strong and do whatever makes you happy and works for you, all the best |

Well, I went and saw the head cancer treatment doctor that was in charge of my treatment at the U of Iowa Cancer Center and he is in agreement with the VA docs that the cancer has been stopped. There's a little of what they call "Uptake" that is from the radioactive dye they put in me to intensify the cancer and surrounding tissue so the scan can see it better. The "Uptake" seems to be in the surrounding tissue and the cancer has stopped. I go back to the VA Jan 2 for another PET scan to make sure it has stopped. So I'm one happy puppy right now!!
Even through all this with my depression and anxiety I did get some bench time in. The '58 got wet sanded and ready for the final coat paint (once it quits raining and the humidity goes down) and plenty of progress on the Wirbelwind.
