I have this one started. This is an actual car that raced at LeMans back in the 70's: I grabbed a Polar Lights Richard Petty Charger kit: I started with the roll cage: Got it all put together, Modeling monkey is thinking, "this cage will never hold me!" The two sets of wheels on the left were in the kit. Not right for OLY. The wheels on the upper right I grabbed from another NASCAR kit: Gave them a bleach bath to remove the chrome. The end caps for the rear spoiler didn't go on OLY, so I had to remove them. These are the aftermarket decals for the Olympia Charger. First pass of gray stuff. Now, to look it over for blemishes. The panel lines on the front pan has to be worked to get the right profile. OLY had either a HEMI, or a 440 wedge head V-8, depending on which year it ran. The Richard petty kit has a small block MOPAR engine that NASCAR mandated in the mid 70's. The Buddy Baker kit has both the small block and the HEMI, so I found one on eBay and grabbed it. And, if I botch up the body, I have a spare to use! This is as far as I've got this one. more to come, in the near future.

Block halves, cylinder heads, water pump, and lower half of intake are assembled. I drilled the valve covers for the plug wires, and drilled through the intake for the distributor shaft.

Thanks, Joe! I got the engine painted and assembled to this point: When the CA is set good on the distributor, I'll cut the wires down and stick them in the plug holes in the valve covers.

I finished the HEMI: I used a Morgan Automotive Detail distributor, and made a coil from styrene tube. headers were painted with a silver Sharpie.
