Joe, they might not have ever been in the kit. There is a whole discussion on another site about misrepresented models. Round2 (AMT-MPC-Lindberg-Polar Lights) has been the major culprit in this. Especially on the re-issues, where they put the parts in the kit, but the box art build has been modified by the builder, mostly from changing out the wheels and tires, or using a different grille, etc. For example, I have an AMT 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS kit that has the wrong grille in it. It shows the proper grille on the box top, but the one in the kit doesn't resemble any Chevelle from any year!!
(Sorry for the thread hijack!)

That's just wrong to misrepresent what is in the box in my opinion but I'm glad you found the wheels you want for yours!!!

Some great scores there guys. I helped a woman win a bet with the old Monogram Cord kit. She was told the Cord never existed so she bet the guy $50.00 that it did. She came into my hobby shop, told me that story and then asked if we had a kit of the Cord to prove it. We did; I sold her the Cord kit. She was thrilled!

Got these in the mail: The '58 was a very good deal. Never been opened. The styrene sheets on the left are 12" by 24" by .040" thick. The styrene sheets on the other left are 7" by 12" by .010" thick. I may never need to buy any more of this stuff!! I might even have extra, if ya needs any!! LOL
