Mence it is a fun series with lots of laughs and fun scenes. I have to commend the artists for such realistic looking animation of the tanks in the series.

Chad, the aircraft carriers are the schools. They also hold the 'towns/cities' that support the school and hold the students' families. I have the whole series on DVD including the two additional movies.

Crunchyroll has the twelve episodes of the series. But it does not have the movie. A site called gogoanime is pretty good. I do not believe it had any popup adds.

Didn't one of the OVA's explain what the different ships the academies use?

I think so, but I'm not sure. The British used an Invincible class ship, the Russians a Kiev-class carrier. US used a Nimitz class and the Italians used a Roma class which never when into service in WWII but was built. The Germans were on a Graf Zeppelin class ship. The Japanese of course used an Akagi.
