Thank you chaps. Still working on the tail thing but in the meantime, more progress. Arguably Rolls Royce finest hour, the Merlin engine complete with Supercharger, Carburetor, Intercooler and Air Filter.

Will you leave a panel off so we can see the engine at the end?

Will you leave a panel off so we can see the engine at the end? That's the good thing about Tamiyas 1/32s, covers are held in place with tiny magnets so you can take them off and put them back on again as you please.

That has to be the best Merlin in kit form ever! I'm very tempted to buy and build one of these one day

Have to say fella, all the rave reports you read about this are 100% true.
Also true is that if something doesn't fit, you're doing it wrong!

That's one of, "Why didn't I Think of That" moments, right there! When I first came across it on my Honda RC166 to hold part of the fairing on I thought it was a bit of a gimmick but it actually works quite well.

I can see where a well placed magnet would be handy on a 1/25 scale car build!

Indeed, the system works well, small steel plate super glued onto the fuselage and a magnet superglued onto the cover, simples.
No update today I'm afraid although good progress has been made in the itty bitty painting dept.

Be Thursday now and very modest too. I've just picked up another 1/32 wingy which promises to be the exact opposite of this one so I'm enjoying this while it lasts!
