Nice project! Didn't realize they were molded in color. Yeah that red is gonna need primer to cover it so it doesn't bleed through... I'm thinking a light creamy yellow on that one with a brown leather interior! A darker green on the other than that plastic color.

Color choices sound good. A flat black on that red might help keep it from showing through. I've also read where some builders will seal red plastic with silver paint. Might be worth experimenting on some scrap red plastic. It would be a shame for the red to show through a light cream color. I've had trouble with "bleed through " before and it's frustrating!

In the following pic, you can tell the variation in the shade of gold between the roof and the body of Palamino. The body was molded in AMT gray plastic. The roof was molded in Monogram red plastic, as it was sourced from a 1958 Ford Thunderbird kit. I used the same DupliColor gray primer on the entire model, and this is the result. Since the differing shade is on the roof, I didn't bother to strip it. If it had been the hood or another body part, I probably would have started over. I know you probably already have these things in mind, but others might benefit from my experience with this.
