Cheers Folks 👍
Plodding along... Cornwall's main armament and various small doohickeys have gone aboard, she's nearing completion, quite possibly she'll cross the line next week if my plans for her come good... 🤓
Its a Supercars weekend, so no time at the desk today or tomorrow, Must apologise for the lack of clarity of the Cornwall photos yesterday, try the below, which are where she's at now... 😎
Still a few bits n bobs to be added, plus a lil extra or two, if I know me... 🙄

Cheers Folks 👍😀
Its nice to have a slipway open again for various (personal), reasons. Staying with the "one til its dun" policy means the output level may well be a lot lower than my usual, but at least I'm still in the game, which is the main thing 😎
Staying with matters maritime (or nautical niceties), for the moment, with the odd 35th AFV, just to rest my eyes when necessary. Cornwall ain't too far off being finished, going to try something on her next time I'm at the desk. If that works, I'll try the same on Alaska. Hopefully it'll work, now that time ain't the issue it once was (again,on a personal basis), my usual impatience to git on and git whatever I'm working on finished and git onto the next one seems to have evapourated as I've gotten older, They'll be dun when they is dun and not before ! 🤓

I agree M! Go at the speed ya want!!!

That's exactly how I intend proceeding mon brave 😎
Progress might be slightly faster than glacial (albeit slower than incremental), but it matters not, time is not the enemy, in fact the longer it takes me to finish something, the better the outcome (to me at least)... 🤓
That said, Cornwall's rather close to being dun, unfortunately, after getting her masts stepped and solidly glued in, I managed to snap the top of her mainmast (still haven't found the missing bit), matters not, even if I did find it, the odds of getting it back on, neatly aligned and no sign of a joint would be well nigh impossible, so I'm casting about for a small packet of brass wire I know I have somewhere, with which I will replace the mast entirely. Dang Trumpy's soft plastic, which can be moulded impossibly thin for masts etc; but the thinner sections are more often found snapped on their sprues. Oh well.. ne'er mind, its easily replaced (at least its a single mast and not a blimmin' tripod (them tripod masts are right boogers to scratchbuild) , 😖
Next victim is on the slips, Flyhawk's DKM Konigsberg, standard edition (kit is cheaper than the deluxe edition cos there's no brass included !) Just the way I like 'em these days. 🙄
Piccys of Cornwall and Kberg on the morrow, if the weather plays fair...

Too busy I'm afeared... 🫨 My eyes won't focus this morning... 😵💫
Konigsberg has gone back into her box, Cornwall is on the shelf and I'm taking the day off..
Back in a day or two (when my eyes start working again), with something in 35th, The 700ths can wait for a while.

I enjoyed it greatly (who doesn't enjoy a rest ?) 😆
Started playing with a 35th, got this far with it....
Before I realised it just wasn't floating my boat... 🥱 So I returned it to the stash and replaced it with something out that does indeed float my boat...😎
Its the 35ths can wait, doesn't worry me If I have to take a couple of days off from the sea lines to rest my eyes, my mind is still not used to my new attitude that time ain't a factor these days.

It's always nice to have summit to fall back on, when things just aren't working out with the one yer working on!! I have to do that myself. Must be the reason I have so many unfinished car models on the go!!

Cheers Folks 👍
@joe I don't do subs (gotta draw the line somewhere), I'm not into things that sink themselves as and when they choose,Much more into things that can be sunk, usually at a most inconvenient time that is not of their choosing. 🙄
@bucky I know that situation only too well, my drawers of stasis have at least 3 35th tanks and a couple of 72nd Aircraft that seem to have taken up more or less permanant residence inside them.. For once that many stalled projects doesn't bother me one iota. 🥱
@duke will do - Konigsberg's had her main and #1 decks painted in a dark linoleum colour (Tamiya XF-10 Flat Brown) Unlike her two sisters (Koln and Karlsruhe), Konigsberg had Linoleum covering on those two decks. Flyhawk have moulded (very finely) the Linoleum pattern on both decks. Her sisters had steel decks painted Dk Grey,(linoleum removed pre-war on Koln, never fitted aboard Karlsruhe). Konigsberg's DkGrey painted decks started at the #2 deck level.
Nothing happening today at the desk I'm afeared, awaiting a rather large paint order that's currently in the post.

A point of curiosity here. Why were the decks covered in linoleum?

Cheers Folks 😎
@bucky - I'll get back to you on that one... think it had to do with Linoleum having a bit of "give" in it that teak or steel didn't, in any case the Germans and Brits realised it burned rather well and got rid of it by the time war broke out.🤔
Konigsberg's superstructure and secondary turrets are coming along slowly, next stage is paint for all of them, before final bits go onto the superstructure, which will be assembled completely before it goes on the ship...Must paint her turrets as well... 🥱
