More progress today. I have the turret basket installed, and I've added a bunch of stuff to the right side wall of the turret: Hydraulic traverse mechanism, turret lock, and azimuth indicator are down on the turret ring. Above are the indirect fire sight, a curlicue for comm wire, and the comm wire reel that allowed for a crewman to be outside the tank and a few yards away and still be in contact. Below and to the right are two intercom boxes, with added knobs. They are also drilled for comm wires to come. I need to make three hand microphones and three sets of earphones for each position. Still being worked on are a case for binoculars to go in the lower right corner, and a case for some bit if indirect fire kit that goes forward of the big sight. I think I have one of those on a P/E fret that I can use. I also need to cobble up a soft bag for signal flags to go above the intercom boxes. The left side will not be quite as busy, but there is stuff to fabricate there, too. I'll keep plugging away at it. Good news is, I can fish the gun assembly in with all this in place. Bad news is, some of this is sure to be nearly impossible to see with the roof on, unless I pull the turret off and flip it over to show someone what's inside. Not the first time that situation has presented itself, I assure you...

A couple of things to see here. I mentioned the arrival of rivets from Tichy Train Group in the latest thread, and here are some of the .040" parts on the turret. All the work I had to do to alter the bustle damaged the line of screw heads along the top of the turret. The rivets will replace them all, and I will lightly score them to make them look more like slotted screw heads. I am also continuing work on the turret interior. I need to sort out my lighting better, but in this shot you can see a binoculars case holder and canteen on the rear right corner, and wires from the junction box on the rear turret basket stanchion that extend to the junction boxes on the turret sides. I'm using upholstery thread that's about .013" in diameter, which is much more flexible that the wire I have in that same size. When the interior work is done on this one I will return the spool to the wife's sewing machine.

Great looking work Beekster. The amount of detail you are putting into this is incredible. This will be a show stopper for sure.
