Thank you very much! I enjoy making the bases and displaying the ornaments with my cars. I also enjoy going to swap meets to buy them. The Cadillac hood ornament was only $2.00!

What a great idea Mike. I really like the way you have them set up with the models. Its funny this reminds me of the roll over accident I was in. Woman ran a red lite and slammed into me doing about 50 to 55 MPH I rolled 3 times and walked away from it. but when I went to the junk yard to clean out my car I found her Chevy bowtie emblem in my car(not sure if put there by the accident, or the fire dept. after the fact). Either way I still have it on my modeling desk down stairs.

When I joined the army in the 80's I passed them on to a cousin, I believe she still has them. One is a Victorian ink bottle which actually had a pen nib in it!! |

Maybe the Chevy bow tie can be the beginning of an automobile emblem collection! Emblems and hood ornaments are easy to find. I go to salvage yards and swap meets. Year One sells them too. I bought the Plymouth 426 hood ornament from them. The Plymouth 383 hood ornament came from my dad’s 1966 Fury III. He gave it to me before he sold the car. The rest are from salvage yards and swap meets! I am glad you like my collection. |

More for my collection! While I was at the Utah Valley University Auto Expo I walked through the swap meet and found these. I am very happy!    I think the Mustang emblem and wheel center caps just need cleaning. The GTO emblem needs cleaning and a little paint. I plan to make round plaques for the caps and hang them on the wall. I enjoy swap meets! |
