55 vette wip pics

Ok, gonna try a few pics to see what happens. started with this kit

Ok, it worked. Gonna try some more on this in a few. Btw, this is an old wip, I'm gonna try to remember how it went.

I had to fit the front and rear together then figure out the exhaust

I drilled some holes, took some rivets apart and fit them in. Found some hollow bead things from wall mart. They fit pretty good

"It came to me in a dream"...naa...Thanx BUCKY. Actually I thought of it while riveting some panels on a machine at work. This is when I threw some paint. I think it was testors fiery orange.

Then I think I was trying to decide on the fan




The kit one I didnt like it so I think I got the other from a cutlass kit. Threw it on, wired the engine and ran a fuel line.




Worked on the frame and installed the engine. Driveshaft too short! Easy fix.










Did a mock up, but changed those wheels and tires out later on. Have to admit, for an old kit, the chassis is really nice. It goes together pretty good.

Fantastic progress, love the exhaust idea using pop rivets and the paint job is exquisite.

Thanx guys! It was the first time I used the testors one coat stuff. I remember it was a early calm sunny day. It sprayed really smooth. Ok, I figured it's a convertible, so I tried the flocking for the fist time. It was real easy to do and it looks pretty cool for carpet.

Then got the poster tac out and went to work on the dash and steering wheel.

Pretty sure I used alclad for the chrome.

Then I moved to the battery



Added a few pins. Finished some of the dash the best I could

I belive that i messed something up on the rear and had to fix

I used future floor wax for the gauge faces. It did clear up.

Ok, the last few build pics on this. I took a needle, cut the end off and made a lock for the trunk.



I flocked the top and installed the rear glass, figured I'd try something on it.



This is where it sat back in 2012 or 13. Until I finished it a few years back

I meant to comment on this one yesterday but was all tied up in the back yard building a patio area and forgot .......so I'm not going to miss the opportunity today. I've gotta tell you.....you're really putting alot in this build and it shows. Beautifully & carefully detailed and painted up. Awesome build so far Tim.
