Cheers everybody, my name is Tobi (German spelling), I'm in my mid-forties and I'm a modeler since the age of six, thanks to my grandpa, which is also one of my fondest memories of him. Some of you might remember me from another time and another forum, at least I already saw a few familiar faces while getting started. Steve (Ski) was so kind to guide me here, because over at modelerssocialclub, where I used to be, it has gotten so quiet, I'm afraid we are the last two people there. Someone should turn out the lights behind me. In principle I model everything, but my weak spot are 1/35 military topics of WWII. I'm a slow builder. I mean it, so don't expect too much. I do my own scratch work if necessary, I'm addicted to aftermarket goodies, but I don't consider myself a die-hard rivet counter. Alas, every rivet counter says that of himself. Very nice work, Tobi! And quite the variety of subjects, too. Don't worry about being slow; I am too. I recently finished a project that was on and off the modeling bench for nine years!
I particularly like your Fokker Tripe and that Leo 2A4. The Leopard looks to have a little bit of Photoshop work done for the dust; very realistic!

Thank you lads, feels good to be here.  Yes Beekster, I like to play around from time to time with my camera and some graphic tools. In the past with Corel Photoshop (on the Leo), but last year's Fokker got a full Luminar AI & Gimp treatment. The Leopard (from Revell) was also a feature article at Michael Shackletons Leopard's Club, the Fokker was for my brother's 60th BD. Steve, Joe and me have a common past.  I dunno if he remembers, the place was called hobbyworx, I think.  |

A belated welcome Tobi! With your masterful models; you'll fit in perfectly! I remember the old 'Worx, it sure closed down quickly once I got there! At least that same curse didn't happen here.
I am overwhelmed at the intense quality of your work. The photoshopped effects truly enhance already masterful models.

Gentlemen, I will have to test your patience a little longer until I can start my first project here, but two hours ago I received confirmation that my to-be wife and me can buy a nice little cottage in the spot where I used to live for the past 15 years. We're very happy and excited about this important new step in our future, but naturally it will consume a lot of my attention in the upcoming months. The reward will be a workshop in the basement and a studio on the first floor for modeling, computer gaming, sports and all that stuff to my disposal. She wants me to have it and spending my time there to see me happy, what a loving wife! Okay, she's getting enough space of her own as well, but for the first time in my life the rooms where I use to eat, sleep and model will be different places. WOW! |

Excellent news, Tobi! I too have a War Room of my own, home to the modeling bench, library, and wargame collection (the old-fashioned paper maps & cardboard counters kind). It keeps me out of her way, so it's good for both and probably a major factor in why we've been married nearly 37 years. The garage is also my domain, home to the airbrush bench and the cars.

The younger we get the more we realize just how much we need and love our Mums/wives, lol. I would say you found the right gal Sounds like you may be busy for a bit, but once that bunker is up to speed, you're good. My pretty little women whole heartedly supports my "sniffin paint and my gluin my fingers together" too, as long as I get the outside work done, HA! Ah, after almost 33yrs, she's a keeper!
