I got started building this engine.Its a Chevy 502 Alley Rat.All the parts have to been sanded really good on the mating surfaces so everything fits together nicely.Better to find fit up problems now and fix them before you get to far into the build. I get the mating surfaces super flat by taping a sheet of 600 grt sand paper to a sheet of glass and holding the part flat I sand the surface in a circular motion until the whole surface has been sanded out to the edges.I keep test fitting the pieces till I get them right and theres not to much filling later. I got some of the sub assemblies together before painting everything with alclad II black primer All the pieces are now washed and ready for painting more pictures comin soon.Darcy

Heres the parts in gloss black base ready to be coated with proper allcladII metal finishes. Heres all the pieces after bein painted with allcladll colors. Dull alluminum Chrome Polished alluminum Stainless steel I'm leavin the engine block sermi gloss black,in the photos its hard to see but all the allclad ll colors look very different, until next time. I was busy today I got some final assembly done. I started workin on the plug wires and distributor.Now all the detailing This ones goin in the garage I've been building.More pics soon. Darcy

Got some more done on this one. I got the exhaust manifolds done and the rocker cover caps done. The distributor is cast resin and completely scratch built. Thats it for now! Darcy
