It's a 6 month build Jed so you can start when you want, doesn't have to be Jan 1st for you to start... long as you finish by the end of June!!!

I'll have a think, would like to give a car a go but the weather here is unlikely to be good enough to get any spraying done,we'll see

Now you guys got me thinking about using this thread to stretch my building horizon, and do something I don't normally do, even though I got myself labeled a "car/motorcycle" guy a long time ago (don't really like labels, even though I am biker trash) I have a lot of kits, Airplanes (mainly civilian) some more boats, or if a motorcycle "NOT A HARLEY"... LOL
If you can post on the 1st that would be cool, but if not, I know everybody would be cool with it, but this is sorta Joes (yes I know, this is everybodies site, haha) baby.
I think everyone here just enjoys seeing everybody elses work. But we all need to strive to do more WIPs, (speaking about myself) built models are fun to look at, but those WIPs are the great teachers, but it's hard because doing WIPs are as much work as the build, and the finished photos are another job. Thank You guys for doing them. I've learned more in a month here following all your WIPs, than years on other boards where people mostly post finished.
I've got an involved WIP going on another site, I'm gonna bring here, just because I really like this board. (soon as Leslie shows me how, she's the brains)
what was I talking about, oh yeah lets have a great year of building!
Jim

Work in progress pics are always encouraged as that is how we can learn new techniques and ask questions. I will have a tread started on the 1st so we can all post our kits and then our work in progress until completion where we will put our finished glorious pictures and breathe a great sigh of relief at having gotten another off the bench and to our displays!!! The most important thing is to have fun!!!

Ok, I have decided to commit to building these two kits. To challenge myself I am going to convert one by removing bars and changing up lots of stuff to make it a Hotrod Postal Service vehicle... if time allows I may add other vehicles to this build!

Hi OSM, I know I am posting this early, just excited I made up my mind, (sorta wanted to get it off my mind with the next couple of busy weeks). I had mentioned a couple posts ago I wanted to stretch my building horizon. This will be perfect to do that. I didn't just come up with this, these four have been sitting together go on 20 years. With the influence I've already gotten here, it's the time to do it. I love 1/72 aircraft. At all the IPMS meetings and shows, those were my favorite. I only have a couple, and this was most fitting
I'm thinking a small civilian Airport , set around 1963-1965 around the time this plane came out. With an Army surplus Fuel/water truck, fueling up the plane, with the control tower in the background. The Herka accessory set has, soda, ice, cigarette, machines that will be outside by a break area. perhaps a small parking lot for employee cars.
My only concern was the scaling of the building. It says it's HO/OO and all the rest is 1/72
So I compared the size of the dudes, and I think they look pretty close.(?) The grey ones are from the building the darker ones from the truck.
This scale will lend fit into case space I have available. I will post it on the first of Jan. again. With some more shots, I'll probably be asking for some help with this one. LOL Thanks Jim
