Someone asked why Monty wore a sweater in the desert while others were in shorts, darned if I know but there are photos proving he did... I think Monty was just old school and considered shirt sleeve order a case of dressing down 😳

Thanks my friends... I'm thinking the choice of clothes is a General thing... Rommel was always fully covered as well in Africa...

Well, maybe you don't live in America.
You would be right: I live in the Democratik People's Republik of Kalifornia.
If these are the same trucks, why does the nose look different on the LRDG vehicles? Is that a field modification for the desert? Did any of the LRDG trucks ever get used post war either in the military or by civilians with the LRDG front end? That's what I'm referring to.
I like those trucks in those pics. ACE actually makes a GAZ pickup truck in 1/72 scale that looks close enough to one of these that it could pass for one.
Joe, I am surprised at the number of figures there. I knew there were a lot, but seeing them all on the base makes this look so amazing!

If you read a few posts further Mark he answered that... Those are 1939s, but lots of 41s still out there.

Yes there are a few figures here 15 not counting the camel, ha, ha... I think I had 17 or 18 in the Aerosan Diorama though. These are just standing on my workbench, not sure about arrangement yet... time will tell!

I would like to say WOW, but that seems to get said a lot on this site, so I'm just gonna say WOW. Not to detract from this amazing project, but I sure like all the pics of the civilian trucks.
I may not reply enough, but I am watching this.
Jim
ps Joe, check it out, I plan on hitting 100 posts soon, LOL

I might have to get one. That way I have a great blueprint to convert one of my / scale LRDG trucks to a civilian one.
