German measles??? I'll get me coat and hat...
I was thinking more like Spotted Fever.
Brilliant work Sty! That is a smooth and exceptional job on that camouflage. So you like working with Armor? Cool! Welcome to the Dark Side, we got cookies!

I know this is kind of a what if build. But can anyone explain to me the German unit number markings?
I would like to put something on it that would at least make some kind of sense.
There is no callouts in the instructions. I have some iron crosses and a bunch of numbers.

Gloss and decals down. Now the weathering and detail painting can start.

Very nice!
Re: German Numbering
Generally, the Germans followed this 3 digit system.
The first number corresponds to the company. For example, if a Panzer Battalion was broken into 3 companies, all the vehicles in the first company would have numbers starting with "1", second company "2", etc. Normally, when you see either a letter or a Zero in the first position, it indicates a commander's or other special vehicle.
The second number is the platoon number...there are typically 3 or 4 platoons per company.
The third number is the individual vehicle number, usually from 1 to 8 in full strength tank platoons. In some specialized vehicle units, halftracks or other armored vehicles that could number over 10, had unique 4 digits numbers to account for this, but it was very rare.
Therefore, your model is a vehicle is the first (or lead) vehicle from the 2nd Platoon, 4th Company -- presumably an anti-tank battalion from some division or Panzer regiment.
There are of course exceptions and alterations to these guidelines throughout the war.
Hope that helps...

I haven't got much more done yet. Other than a little oil filter and a dull coat. I think that really brought all the colors together.
