That's right. With these five most recent completions, I've reached the milestone of 800 small scale vehicles built. Without further ado, here they are. First two to come in were the two Churchill AVRE's I was building for the Churchill Challenge on Missing Lynx. the Churchill MK.3 AVRE: and the Churchill Mk.4 AVRE: After that, I finished the three tank transporters that I was doing for the Group Build on Missing Lynx. First to be done was the Japanese Type 78 Tank Transporter: And since it is a Tank Transporter, here it is with a tank-like vehicle on it: Next came the M-977 HEMMTT Tank Transporter. This thing gave me fits! It isn't complete yet, just finished as I can't go any further until I find the big circular thing that goes on the side: And here it is with a tank-like vehicle as well. It is quite small, you can see this M-1117 Guardian barely fits: And finally, my 800th small scale vehicle finished. Like the HEMMTT, it ain't complete yet; just finished until I can find or replace that rear axle sub-assembly. Here is my M-1070 HET Tank Transporter: And here it is hauling an M-1A2 Abrams SEP TUSK I: Later I'll finish the Dozer that originally came with that kit. Until then, I just had to pose it with a tank since the other two tank transporters had tank or tank-like vehicle loads. There they are my first five models finished for the month of October. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Thanks Bruce. Not really. I know some guys in Europe who have about a thousand armor and vehicle models. Almost all of them have Roco models and resin models as well as some other almost-completed-already models. With respect to being almost exclusively injection molded plastic kits; you might be right though.
Joe and Robert, thanks guys! I appreciate it so much.

Five in one shot, but 800 total? Holy production line Batman. And they're good, too.

Hi Mark,
Coming in a little late, as I'm trying to see everything on the board. I have looked at these several times.
Not well versed in Armor (but you're teaching me) are these all 1/72?
You mentioned ROCO, I had a lot of those back around 1966, when my Dad was stationed in Germany (could get them cheap in the PX) I still want to get at least one for my over all collection.
These five would be impressive if they were all you had... But 800! AWESOME!

Thanks Jim! I'm glad to see you stop in. Yes, all these are in 1/72 scale, as is a good 98% of my collection. The exceptions are some 1/76 scale Airfix kits I built way back in my distant youth that I still have. I had only gotten a few ROCO, but wasn't that thrilled with them when I compared them to my 1/72 scale armor: they were a bit too small and seemed rather basic. I did retain some of them in the collection because they were models I couldn't get. I retired them from the collection when I was able to replace them with 1/72 scale vehicles. Yeah, 800; all built by me. And that is just the armor and vehicles. I also have about 480+ aircraft (all in 1/72 scale with two exceptions) and 295+ ships ranging in scale from 1/385 to 1/720 scale. Checxk out my Maddog Manufacturing thread and you'll see the variety of models that I work on.
If you want to see what 700 armor and vehicles look like in 1/72 scale, check out this pic:
I've finished 100 more since that pic was taken.
The small magazine in the corner shows my same collection back when I had 545 small scale armor and vehicles. We had set them out on tables that day for the magazine article, and I've been keeping a running count ever since because people keep asking. "How many is that now?" whenever I finish more. Plus it helps me keep track so I'll know when I reach 1000 finished armor models.

Hi Mark,
This is an awesome collection, and 100 more since this pic, your gonna go broke buying tables my man! (LOL) You need to take some table by table shots, so we can see these gems closer up. Do you have any 1/72 military motorcycles?
We might need to bug the Admins about doing a category just for collections (unless there already is, and I haven't found it yet) because I know everyone here has massive, impressive collections.

LOL! Thanks Jim! Actually, those tables are at a local Knights of Columbus Hall where we hold or Hobby Days.... at least we did in pre-COVID days. I agree. I do need to do some table-by-table shots showing each country's vehicles. Maybe when I set this up again to shoot pics of my 800 models total, I'll do that. Yes, I do have some 1/72 scale military motorcycles. There's at least four or five German motorcycles with sidecars, at least two US Army Harleys, and a British motorcycle from one of the Airfix vehicle sets. All but the British one are shown in the above pic; it is understandably hard to see them given the distance and scope of the shot. I was standing at the top of a 20 foot ladder to shoot that and other pics. Since they are so hard to see, here's my pics of some of those 1/72 scale motorcycles: German BMW with the sidecar: US Army Harley Davidson: British BSA M-20 Motorcycle:

Just how and where do you put all 800 of these built models, for now?

Well, some are currently on the shelf where there is space. The rest of the 750 or so are in tubs like this:
The big wooden box is holding my Dora railgun. My friend calls it "Dora's Baby coffin"! The other large tub holds the rest of my railroad subjects.
I stack the flat tubs in my Hobby Room like so:
Dora's box and the railroad tub are out in another room since there is currently no room in my Hobby Room.
Right now I just don't have any more space to set them up on display. I miss seeing everything sitting out.
