The turret problem was not the only one, there were many fit issues thru the entire build, such as fitting the upper hull half and having to melt the hinges for the turret rear hatch in place with repeated applications of LPC. I'll not get into the interference problems with the interior.
All of this made the build tedious and vexing but in reality the troubles are all fixable so I can't whine too much about them. This, by the way, is where I discovered Vallejo acrylic putty. It does not sand very well but I learned that if you apply it, wait a few minutes, then wipe it with a wet cotton swab you don't need to touch it again. Pretty good stuff for those hard to reach places.
All this is no doubt why it's taken me four years to get the model to this point
