I have decided to go with Dragons older,, but still good Panzer 4J
I started on it tonight and can I just say "I hate road wheels." The cleaning, the sanding, and then putting them together is a pain in the butt. I'm really tempted to take them off one of my started but not completed builds just to avoid doing them. But alas I wont. I have no pics as of yet, I only have two of them done. As soon a I do get them done I will definitely get pics up. As for what Markings I will be using,, I don't rightly know right now. I will have to search the Internet and find out whats out there.

  Well here are the markings I have picked. It is a captured Panzer 4 of the 11th Panzer Division. Now the next step is to find if anyone makes these markings. the crosses wont be the issue the ghost emblem and the numbers will be. These are also the only pics I could find of this particular tank. I think its in the video on YouTube about the 11ths Surrender to American forces in 1945. If any of you out there know of a set of decals, or knows where I can find more pics I would be grateful. I spent a good part of an hour searching on the net and despite the claims I couldn't find any. |

Actually Armorguy that was the way I was leaning, much to my chagrin, to doing it after I couldn't find anything online. The 25 actually looks hand painted on so I might even get away with brush painting it on.
Well guys I have the next 3 days off from work so I suspect I should be able to get quite a bit done. Lord willing I will have pics for tonights post.

 Ok Guys here is the first issue I came across. The tabs with the red arrows pointing to them will need to be cut short due to the rubber stops(green arrows) being placed to close to were the road wheel bogies will go. These tabs are guides for the bogies and if you leave them the bogies will end up at angles which will cause the wheels to not be level. The fix is to either cut them short or offset the bumpers further away from the marks on the hull so the bogies will align properly. Also the instructions tell you to scrap the boxes on the hull off. But on the hull I have those marks are actually below the surface. Which means I had to fill mine not scrape them off. I have 2 more issues to discuss but will do them in the next update. |

Standard Dragon instructions I see, full of surprises. You are sharp enough to catch them however and I have no doubt of a fine outcome. As far as the numbers go perhaps you could just draw them in with a black Sharpie, easier and less whoops prone than paint and brush. I shamelessly use such techniques whenever possible.

Well gang this one is still in the works and I have been working on it. I took a break from it because of my dads death but I am now back at it. Let me just say that this kit has its inaccuracies. The hooks on the sides of the turret are the incorrect ones, the kit is missing grab handles above the turret side doors, and last but not least the plates above said doors are way to thick to be the plates. man I have some work ahead of me. The grab handles and the plates wont be an issue replacing,, but the hooks are a different matter. I'm hoping I have extras in my parts box or they are something I can steal off another kit. I will get pics tomorrow of these changes and were the model stands so far.
