This is the Custom Shop version by AMT. I got this in trade from a member of another forum: Pre-painted EVERYTRHING! I'll build this one as a quick-build in between the major projects I've had on the bench, lately. I may do a little detail painting, and might toss a wired dizzy under the hood, and I'll look at mashing down some foil on the trim that is already painted silver.

These are the two piece tires from the kit: B.F.Goodrich Silvertown. With the kit wheels: I may add a black wash to give them some depth.

This is the engine from the kit: I drilled the heads for the spark plug wires, and added an aftermarket distributor. I know the engine is not the factory Pontiac Blue, but this is a custom, and the engine was already painted in red. It goes together very well. The fuel lines were supplied in the kit. Nice touch!

This is the floor pan: I added some gray flocking for the carpeted areas: I detailed all the recessed areas of the seats and door panels with a graphics pen: I think it added some depth to diamond pleat interior.

Frame, with engine in place: Complete, with suspension in place: Everything is going together very well, so far on this build. It seems to be a very well engineered kit.

Thanks, guys!! It kinda helps wind down from a major build, and still stay at the bench.

Another one down: This is a good kit. It was pre-painted, and I built it Out Of The Box, with the additional wired distributor, flocking for carpet, and Bare Metal Foil. I see that I shudda blacked out the grille. There are no door mirrors or antenna in the kit. I don't have any in the spares, either. When I come across some, I'll add them to it. I wish AMT wudda provided a separate tie rod for the front suspension. This kit has one molded in, but the spindles are posable. I wonder why AMT didn't do this one like the old '58 Impala kit? I recommend this kit, as it is a fairly easy build. The other '62 Pontiac kits are most likely engineered the same as this one, so any of them should be fun to sling about the bench!

Looks great... If the grill is bothering you, float some thinned black in there... wipe off the chrome and voila done...
