Hey all! Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here! I see all of the posts every day on my phone so I've been following all the news I believe. IN all, I think July was a good month. My 43rd birthday was my first birthday in the 40's where I wasn't sick, injured or recovering from surgery which was great. I also got back on all of my thyroid and testosterone meds in June so I have almost no joint pain now (Dr. told me several years ago that as we men get older and our testosterone levels fall, we don't recover from injury or even day to day wear and tear as well, which is why we ache so much). Yesterday, I had a followup with him and for the first time in 2 years, I dropped below 300 lbs. (I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks and want to lose 80 more)
Sadly, life is still so busy that I haven't been able to get back to modeling yet. We are so very close to releasing version 1 of our POS software in a production environment that it's taking up a lot of time but my brother-in-law sadly has gotten himself mixed up with a swindler that's taking him for all his money. So, most of the work has fallen to me and a part time employee that we have. At home, I still have a 16'x16' steel shed to erect this month to get some stuff out of the weather, continue the dis-assembly of the 2005 Expedition and continue fixing our two other cars. (A/C on my wife's car, then brakes on that car, then rear suspension on my truck, then back to the driver's window on her car, then back to all of the power windows on mine).
I'll get back to them soon I hope!

Welcome back Scott; I'm glad you're still here. Congrats on the weight loss; I myself am now finally down below 245, my goal is to drop below 237. Hang in there and take everything day by day. As long s you're still kicking and checking in, it's all that matters.

Thanks All! I'm gonna say this: I need my models!!! I spent 40 hours in the last 8 days cleaning up inventory data from our client's old system to use on ours. We've done 4 test runs of the data import using my cleanup scripts and after today, I'm closing in on the final scripts. So here's a little about this data cleanup: - There are 150,000 in inventory at this pawn shop (biggest in Midwest)
- The old system has NO validation of data. EVERY field is free-form text entry. (As an example, during the Manufacturer cleanup I did last year (another 40 hours), the name Milwaukee was spelled 27 different ways.)
- The old system used Item types (General Merchandise, Gun, Auto, Jewelry) and sometimes categories of each of those.
- Our system uses a Top Level Code (General, Gun, Auto, Jewelry), a Category (Power tools, Hand tools, etc) and Item Type Codes (Hammer, drill, etc)
- The first import a week ago resulted in 22,000 items that had a top level code (all in General) and 138,000 that had NONE of the other codes.
- The second import resulted in 76,000 items with either a top level code or a category code (but not necessarily both) and 74,000 with NO codes at all.
- The third and fourth imports have resulted in ZERO items with a top level code but 90,000 with a category code and ZERO items with a top_level
- I currently have 4 script files containing 700 SQL scripts that will update all 150,000 records and leave us with 5,800 items with NONE of the codes, 144,200 items with both Top Level AND Category, and 120,000 records with ALL three codes.
With about 6 more hours of work, I will have those last 35,000 or so records either completely fixed or dropping off into an exceptions report for the client to fix. (Probably be able to fix all but 10,000 of them)

The one thing that has me a little apprehensive is that this is 2-year old data. I'm praying that all of their old patterns hold true and that my cleanup script works on their new data set we get next week!
