I don't know, I've seen large volcanic rock areas that look that large to walk on in many areas...

After 4hrs sleep ( night shifts!!) not up to detail work so did some block base colouring of a couple of figures. The FUusilier being one of them.

You're nailing it Jed, superb figure painting. Btw I think you're right on the base opinion, I'd apply fine sand in places.
