Bucky, you've been doing an excellent job! That was a lot of clamps indeed, I didn't use any either. Your "woodwork" is excellent! Nice choice of colors! Putting a dark brown wash on that later will really make it pop! So far I've managed to get the entire chassis complete; haven't painted it or anything yet. I still need to get pics taken, possibly today. Stay tuned.....

We're eager to see those pics, Duke! I'm thinking I should have pinned the front suspension, too!

I don't know why you need to pin it Bucky, mine is very solid with the glue once it dried. Mark I am looking forward to seeing your pics!

I don't know what it is. I'm using Loctite CA, but the stuff doesn't want to hold on this kit like it did the JEEP.

I just used the liquid Tammy Glue... it is a different plastic, wonder if that is it...

Is it an old glue maybe or it froze this winter?

Nosir....same little bottle. It worked great on the JEEP. I may switch to summit else for the rest of this project.

I've heard reports on other sites about different types of styrene being used, and how some adhesives don't work as well on it.

I put the base coat on the wood parts but no pics yet... just ugly tan!!!

So my wood technique is Model Master enamels Wood Tan, let dry and then brush on Burnt Umber oil paint and wipe off... let dry then when dry in a week gloss coat... Once that is all dry I will mask it off and paint the body...

And then it happened!!! Fightnjoe syndrome locked in and next thing I knew the back doors were sliced in half and from the side frames which were then attached to the rear side panels...just had to have those Coke cases in the truck and still see them well with open doors and I'll add some steps later..

Then the door was placed on so when I paint it will all match...

Thanks Jed for the kind words brother! I just noticed I need to slice those two back floor tabs off and match the wood trim now that the doors are open but that isn't hard to do with oils…

Pics forthcoming guys. As for glue, I'm using the Tamiya orange top glue and it is holding magnificently. CA glue has no sheer strength Bucky, I'd reconsider the type of glue you're using.
