Every month we have Hobby Days at a local Knights of Columbus Hall that spans two days, Friday and Saturday. It is free and open to anyone who wishes to enjoy whatever hobby they enjoy. The only rules are: -> no computer games at Hobby Day. -> no bleeding at Hobby Day -> Have fun with friends Without further ado, here's what it looks like.
And yes, there is model building here as well. This is my second workbench:
Anyone who visits Southern California during the weekend of the second Saturday of the month is welcome!
Thanks for looking in.

That's awesome Mark! Are those some of the old Avalon Hill games? Somewhere around here I have a box full of them, mostly related to the Advanced Squad Leader game.

Thanks for the awesome comments guys!
Robert, those were raffle kits. We don't have one very often at Hobby Day, but every so often enough stuff comes in that we can.
Joe, most of the people who come are table top gamers. There are a few people that will play board games. One guy comes in with a literal truckload of board games that anyone can try anytime they like during Hobby Day.
John, yes. Those are some of the old Avalon Hill Advanced Squad Leader games. We actually have a closet full of them that anyone can bring out and play.
Bucky and Ben, thanks. These events are a ton of fun. I have more pics from this past weekend to post soon.

We'll see. I'm not sure you guys really want to see my ugly mug anyway. It's bad enough to scare little kids!

Here's some updated pics from this past weekend's Hobby Day. First I'll show you my work space with my toolbox, lights and everything that I use for building models here: This is some of the models that were worked on by a handicapped group that comes in on Fridays for a couple hours: Here is a game mat with some Kings of War miniatures ready for deployment: Here's another table filled with tools and gaming miniatures that are being built and painted: Now for some shots of some of the games going on. Here's a couple guys being taught how to play Battletech. Harmon; the founder of Hobby Day, is on the left front with his grandsons next to him. The other two are the guys being schooled by the grandsons: And here is a shot of the ever popular board game table. Yes, the tubs behind these people are filled with board games: That was another successful Hobby Day. Next month on Friday Hobby Day I'll be cooking steaks for everyone who stays for dinner. Thanks for looking in!
