Jeff I had to cut the tab off the steering gear box part 124 and locate it lower on the frame then where the tab should have gone to clear the engine and exhaust...I mocked up the interior and body with the engine in place then superglued the box in position... here is a pic... I'm having the same problem, Joe. It's p**sin' me off.

Sometimes, a light coat of primer or black will help those seams stand out. Then, you can clean them up, and carry on. Engine looks very cool, Jeff! What color blue did you use on that?

I'm feeling a bit better now. And that's a good tip about the primer or black, Buck. Anyway, to answer your question, it's Model Master #2729 Olds Engine Blue. That's what was called out in the directions. It's a metallic. I had my doubts about it but it looks O.K. I guess.

First off, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY. Now for the important stuff. So, the mystery of the steering box placement has been solved. Based on the instructions it looks like the round post on the steering box goes in the slot in the frame shown by the red arrow. This is not correct. The square boss on the steering box goes in the slot in the frame and the post connects to the Pitman Arm which connects to the Center Link. The post.
The Boss.
The Pitman arm.
In place.
And with the Tub dryfitted.
You can see that the input shaft lines up roughly with where the Steering column will be.
So much for that.
Have a great day, Boys.

Making some progress. Exhaust painted up and the suspension in place. Got a start on the interior, too. Hope to have the parts masked up and sprayed with the second color by this afternoon. AAACW

Thanks, Boys. My masking plan didn't work out so it's time for plan "B"

I was wondering with the textures...

So, plan "B" didn't work either, ended up at plan "D" but it worked. Basic colors blocked out. A lot of detailing to do still. AAACW
