Some of them do have a variation of this called Link and length. Individual links go around the drive sprockets and idlers and at the curve of the track where it goes under the main road wheels, while the rest of it is in lengths of track that pass over and under and connect the idler and sprockets with the main lower runs of track. Some of those individual links can be exceptionally small like the ones I installed on my IBG Type 89 Japanese tanks. The M-992 tracks were also fairly difficult, being smaller than I would have expected on such a heavy vehicle. Still, I wouldn't relish the idea of putting 184 links together one-by-one anytime.

Just been piddling around with this for the last few weeks. Was hoping to be done with this by now but time constraints have been an issue. Anyhow, hull and tracks are done and my 2 cents on Takoms tracks is they suck.   |

Jeff, they suck because of the fit. They are nicely detailed but I had to do a lot of sanding on each link to get them to mesh together.
