An update on the Hasegawa 1/32 P-40E. This is a happy but yet unhappy update. First the happy. The markings are on. I have done just a little chipping so far with more subtle weathering to follow. Next up will be an oil filter to try to tone down the bright markings. I will also be working more on the landing gear. Now the unhappy. Ok down right disappointing pictures. Yes disappointing. You have seen the pictures I spent around two and a half hours to get. I was so disgusted I reset the camera back to the default factory settings. I then made just enough adjustments on the fly to get what you see. Now the disgusting part. Here are two photos that were taken just a point and click with my phone. You will see in the one on the workbench just how the color is in reality. The other was immediately after taking the last of the earlier pictures. I am most unhappy with the earlier pictures as they wash out the color a bit and lose the different tones in the paint. May have to go online to get a crash course in picture taking. I had come so far and now it is lost again. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe Joe it looks great to me,ref the pictures I'm no expert but if you have an HDR option on your phone try that, also try natural day light as any other type of light especially indoors will cause reflection and overall shine good look

I'd say the pics were better, and the detail and weathering is outstanding! Way to go Joe!

Thanks guys.
My main camera for shooting photos is a Nikon D3100. It has been a pretty steep learning curve.

Ah, you'll get it Joe. I usually use "S" mode, 1.3 with adjusting f22-f29, taking several pics at each angle, then use best pics. Got that intel from Mike Rinaldi. I bought his older Nikon D60, still works like a charm. A light box is a must Bro, two upper lights, maybe a lower light, do the white balance and you should be good to go. I will admit, my wife has the D3100, more bells and whistles, but using the basic settings is still the same.
Wingy thingy looks impressive, as always Joe. You're getting the hang of this paint sniffin, glue stickin thing, aintcha?
Cheers, Ski.

Many thanks my friend. These were with the "M" mode. 1 over 1/3 with the f29, Iso at 100. I use a light box with five overhead lights, two on the sides (still working on proper placement for them), and one low front to try to help with the lower shadows.

Well all good things must come to an end. This is the finished Hasegawa 1/32 P-40E. Let me recap. -Scratchbuilt interior minus seven kit parts, one resin engine, and one resin seat. -Scratchbuilt tail wheel assembly. -Scratchbuilt wing framing. -Scratchbuilt .50 cals. -After market decals. All told way to long to finish. But I will take it. Again the pictures are much too faded but this time I know why. There are some issues/omissions, glaring to me. The ones I did not fix are the ones that would require me to tear the build apart and start over. Thank you for looking in. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe

Certainly a lot of effort, Joe. It's turned into one outstanding build you should be proud to have completed.

I have one question.....why is the plane backwards in the video? It also looks like everything else is backwards in the video. Just an observation, and I'm wondering how it happened.

You are all very kind. Thank you.
Bucky the camera is set for live feeds and with that the software seems to be set to be like that. If I reversed it the live feed would be that way.
