Thanks gents
Everything in basecoat now with the hydraulics as far as I can take them 'till the tracks are installed

Found an figure that'll pass for the operator he's in front of the blade.
Also decided to not mess with the oversize cleats on the tracks; would have been a year of Sundays to file them down but I am adding bolt detail AMT saw fit not to include

A slow, painful process but will make for a better finished product

This is the best AMT kit I've ever tangled with in terms of plastic composition, fit and molding it's almost scary

Very artfully done, Mark! So realistic with the weathering you put on it! TOP NOTCH stuff!

Beautifully done! I think a little more dirt in the tracks and on the blade would add to this but if you put this in front of the right backdrop, it could easily be mistaken for the real thing already! I bow to the Master!

I have seen the big dozer at the paper mill that pushes the wood chips toward the conveyor for the boiler's firebox. The abrasive nature of the wood chips had the tracks and blade shining like they were chrome plated. The rest of the machine was weathered in much the same manner as this fine build. The contrast was curious looking. I guess, in a way, the tracks and blade WERE weathered by the wood chips!

Thanks gents this was a fun build that was not as labor intensive as some due to the fact it went together as advertised. Some of the letter kits are enough of a struggle just to assemble OOB happily this was not one of them.
Duke I'd thought of doing heavier dirt but in drier ground you usually don't get the buildup on tracks or blade. Instead I did a light rust wash on both items to make it seem as tho it's been sitting overnight. The wash does not show up so well in the photos. Please watch that master stuff you're gonna give me a big head
Regards, Mark
