Thanks gents
Carl ya dodged a bullet here, but I think the High Speed Tractor is likely a much nastier build. Chi-Ha was fun; one of those builds that's so inexpensive one can relax thru it and not worry 'cause it's all of $15 to replace if ya botch it.
This, by the way, is an example of what I referred to in the painting section. The model was airbrushed MM Khaki overall, once dry I got the hair stick out and did the camo in MM acrylics. Wicked nice paint to work with, that

I was going to ask if the camo was brushed. Both builds look great, Dude.

That's almost enough plastic to build a whole new Sherman..... or roast a small animal.
Brilliant work on the finished ones! Way to go!

Why so many leftovers? Your work looks great on these two!! Because that's the way Dragon does things. They'll include a whole box-size sprue because it has common parts to several Sherman-family kits, even though you might only use three of them on a particular subject. My theory is that it is cheaper for them to include several such sprues rather than design new sprues and make new steel injection molds. But there are also a plethora of variant-specific sprues too, and in some cases you will wind up with two examples of a part with the same number! One will be on an old common sprue, and the other a better, more detailed version on a newer sprue of the same letter. As if this weren't confusing enough, Dragon's instructions are typically both incomplete and cryptic. End of rant. As for the models that are the real subject of this thread, well, they are looking mighty fine indeed!

Thank you gents
Bucky the Beek is right about Dragon; there are trees from their M4A3 and M7 kits for sure and who knows what else. I'm pretty sure the upper hull and the low bustle turret are the only parts specific to the model.

Both vehicles need further track adjustment, need to get the tools on the Sherman also. Lately I've been dealing with Amazon for base supplies and either they or their cohorts have been rather slow in getting stuff out; I'm almost at a stall here as I'm missing said supplies. There is also a problem with the M4 crew; all appropriate era figure sets I've located are finished as being dressed way too heavily for the tropics thus more research will be needed to get a plausible four figures done

I've noticed the same with Amazon, particularly if free shipping is involved. Still arrives at the tail end of their time window, but they take several days to process the shipment.
I'm curious, Mark...why don't you affix the tools during assembly and paint them in situ? That's what I do, altering the color of handles from time to time for variety. But since OD was the specified finish, there's little reason to paint them off the tank.
