Cheers Folks ! 👍
Jed, I don't mind the tiny bits, if they're too tiny, they can be left off (its better than grotting about on the floor trying to find the little beggars !) 🤬🤫
Robbo, I don't mind the build a bit, paint a bit cycles, as long as there's not too much of the brass a bit stuff ! Next stop for the pair I'm working on is the fit the ship's boats and davits, then rig a bit (stretched sprue to the fore) - where's me sprue stretching candle gone ? 🤔
Sitrep 14 April
HM Cruisers Norfolk and Calcutta are ready for final fitting out, needing their boats fitted,(Norfolk - Calcutta's got most of hers), followed by Davits. Then a tad of stretched sprue rigging, before their pre-commissioning shake-down cruises.
On Slipway number 2, HM Cruiser Penelope is at the hull maindeck and maindeck houses fitted and painted ...
On Slipway number 3, The US Large Cruiser USS Alaska is at the Hull and maindeck fitted stage, the white(ish) paint on the maindeck gun embrasures etc; is an undercoat (had to git rid of it somehow !) 🤔🤫
That's where things are at this week at le works de la Gomez !
Best Gomez of the Admiralty 😉🙃
You sir are an amazing modeler... all those health problems and you continue to build quality models!!! Keep em' going!!!

Cheers Boss 👍
I build models cos whilst I'm at the desk, my medical woes fade into the background (either that or I'm inhaling way too many glue/paint/thinners fumes!) 😋🤫
Its like that old one where the drunk tells the shrink he drinks way too much to forget his problem, shrink asks him what the problem is and the drunk replies "I drink way too mush"(hic !) 🥴

I agree with Joe, so many magnificent models despite the issues. I agree with you about woes falling to the wayside when building and painting models; I do the same to alleviate all my issues as well. It sure makes dealing with them later a bit easier.
Keep those shipyards going; everything is looking fantastic!

Thanks Folks ! 👍
Robbo, best way to clear that is blow yer nose and keep going, the glue fumes will soon dry things out for you (works for me anyway )
Mark, my probs tend to disappear afterwards, (although I do pay for their disappearences later !) Although their reappearence doesn't bother me, cos I know what's caused them, but I don't let it worry me too much.. What's with your thread btw, all I'm seeing is little red X's where the pics should be. Might be too many pics, ya don't have to document every stage of every build ya know - we believe ya !
Couple more pics coming from me shortly of the finished (bar for rigging) Calcutta and Norfolk, decided to leave that particular task for another day (my sprue stretching candle's gone missing -shhh !) 😖🤫
Penelope has gone into stasis and work is continuing on Alaska, her decks have been cleaned up (paint in wrong places fixed) and a pile more parts have gone onto her.. No sign of superstructure yet, there's another 3 pages of subassemblies to go before the Superstructure makes an appearance, so I've got a ways to go yet it seems...😲😴

Gomez, thank you for letting me know about the pics on my Thread. I don't know why they aren't showing up; I always see them, and they show up when I preview, so I don't know what's going on. I just checked it now too; everything is showing up on my screen. I believe Robbo saw them too, since he replied, but I can't be sure. I apologize; I wish I could figure it out.

Sad News today I'm afraid. Had a phone call last night, from the son of the mate for whom I was going to be assembling and painting some 72nd armour. His Dad passed away in hospital of a stroke yesterday. I'm taking a few days off in memorium of a great modelling mate of over 50 years, I'll be doing what I can for his wife and kids in the meantime.
I'll be back as and when.
Best Gomez, mourning a great mate

Thanks folks 👍
His funeral is next Tuesday, after which his family will be attending to matters arising, but they'll give me a yell when it comes to disposing of his unbuilt collection
My shipyards have been closed temporarily, everything is back in its boxes, (mainly to keep dust off them), and the desk is very unusually (for me), clear.
That situation will change after the funeral, but it might not be ships, I iwll return to the shipyards sooner or later, but there's a few 35th AFV's calling to me at present, they're less eye frying partswise !
Best Gomez 😉🙃

Cheers Folks....
Just had a profitable weekend for my mate's family, got shot of several hundred unbuilt 72nd Armour kits at a local club's annual kit Auction, via private deals from a table in the sale room before the auction, none went under the hammer. we of course had to pay a small fee for the table, but we soon made up for that fee with sales. None came my way, I was tempted, but decided to stay with 35th, (easier on my eyes ! ). A couple of thousand dollars went to his family, with any luck we'll shift rhe bulk of the rest at a swapmeet next weekend.
Back soon !
Best Gomez of sales 😉🙃

Cheers Boss 👍
Here's a lil something I've bunged together in the odd 5-10 minutes I've had to myself here and there lately, its Italeri's 35th Crusader Mk III AA variant, OOB at present, think I've got an Eduard brass set for Crusaders, from which I might nick a couple of details for this one. The kit's plastic is assembled to the paint stage, I'm still looking for the brass set, I know its around here somewheres...
Best Gomez of back in a few days 😉🙃

Couldn't find the Brass set, sprayed it overall British Green (Tamiya Acryl XF-61) last night.
Found the brass set this morning, ain't it always the way ? 😖
Ne'er mind, I still have their other Crusader AA (40mm Bofors), in the stash.. one day...
Best Gomez 😉🙃
